Vivo is already planning its next generation of flagship smartphones even before the official unveiling of the X300 Ultra and X300s in the X300 lineup. According to a new leak, the company may introduce different flagship processors across the Vivo X500 series, signaling a shift in its performance strategy.
The upcoming phones are expected to use new high-end chipsets from MediaTek, which is reportedly preparing two variants of its next premium platform.

Vivo Preparing for the X500 Series
While attention is currently focused on the imminent launch of the Vivo X300 Ultra and other models in the X300 lineup, early information about the successor has already begun surfacing.
Reports suggest Vivo could skip the X400 naming entirely, moving directly from the X300 series to the X500 series. If the leak proves accurate, the X500 lineup will succeed the current generation later this year.
The existing X300 family is expected to offer similar performance across models because they all rely on the same chipset — the MediaTek Dimensity 9500. However, Vivo may take a different approach with the next generation.
MediaTek Could Launch Dimensity 9600 and 9600 Pro
Industry sources indicate that MediaTek is working on two flagship processors for its next generation platform:
- MediaTek Dimensity 9600
- MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro
The standard Dimensity 9600 would power regular flagship models, while the Pro variant may be reserved for Ultra or top-tier devices in the lineup.
This strategy mirrors what Qualcomm is reportedly planning with its upcoming flagship chipsets. The chipmaker is expected to release a Pro version of the next Snapdragon platform, rumored to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, designed for premium devices with higher performance demands.
What the Dimensity 9600 Pro Could Offer
Although detailed specifications have not yet surfaced, the Dimensity 9600 Pro is expected to deliver improvements in several key areas compared to the standard model.
These improvements may include stronger CPU and GPU performance, enhanced AI processing capabilities, and improved power efficiency. Such upgrades would make the Pro variant suitable for premium “Ultra” smartphones where performance and advanced features are critical.
Early Vivo X500 Series Details
At the moment, very little is known about the Vivo X500 lineup. However, leaks suggest the series could feature a massive 7000mAh battery, which would represent a significant increase in capacity for flagship smartphones.
Apart from the rumored battery and chipset strategy, other specifications remain unknown. With the launch of the X300 Ultra expected later this month, more information about Vivo’s next flagship series will likely surface in the coming months.
