Vivo X300 Ultra to Bring Improved Audio Quality Alongside Camera Upgrades

The upcoming Vivo X300 Ultra has mostly been talked about as a camera-focused flagship, with leaks and teasers highlighting its imaging capabilities. However, a new update suggests that the device is also getting significant upgrades in another key area — audio quality.

Details about the improvements were shared by Han Boxiao, who revealed that the company has made major changes to both audio recording and audio playback on the upcoming flagship. According to him, the enhancements combine smarter software processing with notable hardware upgrades.

Improved Microphone System for Better Audio Recording

One of the biggest upgrades coming to the Vivo X300 Ultra is its enhanced microphone system. The phone will use four microphones working together to deliver better sound capture in different environments.

Vivo has improved how the microphones handle spatial audio recording, allowing the device to better isolate voices while reducing background noise. With the help of AI processing, the phone can intelligently identify the main audio source and adjust the recording accordingly.

A screenshot shared from the new camera app shows that users will also get more advanced audio controls when recording videos. These include the ability to capture audio directionally, tune recording toward the front or rear of the phone, and manually adjust noise reduction levels from 0 to 100 percent. There will also be a gain adjustment slider ranging from -100 to 100, giving users more control over recording levels — a feature typically found in professional audio setups.

Larger Speaker Hardware for Stronger Sound

Beyond recording improvements, Vivo has also redesigned the phone’s speaker hardware to improve playback performance.

The top speaker in the Vivo X300 Ultra is reportedly almost three times larger than what is typically found in flagship smartphones. The speaker cavity measures about 0.8cc, representing roughly a 167 percent increase in size compared to the 0.3cc to 0.5cc cavities commonly used in premium devices.

This larger cavity should allow the speaker to produce fuller and richer sound, particularly in lower frequencies. According to Vivo, the amplifier has also been upgraded by 20 percent, which further boosts the speaker’s output.

Enhanced Bass and Wider Frequency Range

Thanks to the hardware improvements, the company claims the device will deliver stronger bass and clearer high frequencies.

The upgraded speaker system is said to improve bass response around 300Hz by nearly 4dB, while the high-frequency range is expanded by about 3kHz. In theory, this pushes the top response closer to 20kHz instead of the typical 17kHz found in many smartphones.

While such improvements may look impressive on paper, the difference might be subtle for many users in everyday listening scenarios.

Redesigned Internal Layout

To make room for the larger speaker, Vivo reportedly redesigned the internal structure on the upper right side of the phone. The company moved the speaker cavity cover to the bracket and turned that section of the phone into a dedicated speaker enclosure.

Vivo says this new internal design has already been patented, highlighting the engineering work behind the audio upgrade.

More Than Just a Camera Flagship

The Vivo X300 Ultra is expected to launch as a premium device with strong emphasis on photography. However, these latest details suggest that Vivo is also paying attention to the multimedia experience.

If the claims hold up in real-world testing, the device could deliver one of the better audio experiences among modern flagship smartphones. For now, we will have to wait until the phone officially launches to see how these improvements perform in everyday use.
