Vivo continues to tease the capabilities of its upcoming flagship, the Vivo X300 Ultra, ahead of its official debut in the coming weeks. While earlier teasers focused heavily on photography, the company is now highlighting the phone’s professional-grade video features.
A new promotional video shared by Vivo executive Han Boxiao showcases the device’s advanced video recording capabilities, positioning the X300 Ultra as a powerful tool for content creators and videographers.
Vivo X300 Ultra Designed for professional video creators
Early reports suggested that the X300 Ultra would target professional creators rather than just photographers. The latest teaser reinforces that idea, showing major improvements in video recording compared to the Vivo X200 Pro.
According to Vivo, the X300 Ultra enhances multiple aspects of video production including image processing, shooting controls, and post-production flexibility. These upgrades are designed to make it easier for creators to capture, export, and edit high-quality footage directly from their smartphones.
Full focal-length 4K 120fps 10-bit recording
One of the standout features of the X300 Ultra is its support for full focal-length 4K 120fps 10-bit Log recording. This represents a major step up from the X200 Pro, which supported the same focal range but was limited to 4K 60fps.
The higher frame rate allows for smoother footage and more flexibility during editing, especially for slow-motion scenes. Even more impressive is that all rear cameras on the device reportedly support the same recording specifications, ensuring consistent video quality regardless of which lens is used.
New professional video interface
Vivo has also redesigned the camera interface to support professional video workflows. The company is introducing an Advanced Professional Video Mode, which reorganizes the recording screen so key shooting information and controls are easier to access.
Creators will be able to adjust multiple parameters quickly while recording, making the smartphone workflow closer to that of dedicated video cameras.
Another notable addition is real-time preview of 3D LUT color profiles while shooting Log footage. This allows creators to visualize color grading results during recording, helping them better evaluate tones and colors before entering post-production.
Professional video encoding and cinema workflows
The X300 Ultra is also said to support APV 422 professional video encoding, which enables a wider color range and improved editing flexibility. Vivo claims that footage recorded in Log format can integrate directly into ACES color workflows, a color management system widely used in film production.
This means footage captured with the smartphone could more easily match and integrate with material shot on professional cinema cameras during the color-grading process.
Launch expected soon
Vivo is expected to officially unveil the X300 Ultra soon. The flagship smartphone will reportedly launch alongside the Vivo X300s and possibly the Vivo Pad 6 Pro tablet.
For now, these features are based on the company’s early teasers. More details, including pricing and global availability, should become clear once Vivo makes the device official.
