The upcoming Vivo X300 Ultra is getting closer to launch, and the company has now shared unedited camera samples taken directly from the phone. While the official launch date, pricing, and availability remain unknown, the device has already appeared frequently in leaks and teasers, with executives from Vivo revealing many of its key features.
The latest reveal focuses on what is expected to be the phone’s biggest highlight — its flagship-level camera system.
Vivo showcases unedited X300 Ultra camera samples
Vivo shared the images on the Chinese social platform Weibo, giving an early look at the camera capabilities of the X300 Ultra. The samples highlight both the primary camera and the telephoto camera, showing strong detail retention and balanced color reproduction.
According to the company, the phone features a 200MP Sony LYT-901 sensor for the main camera and a 200MP telephoto sensor based on the Samsung ISOCELL HP0. These cameras were developed in collaboration with the optics brand Zeiss.
One interesting change is the 35mm equivalent focal length used for the primary camera. Most flagship smartphones typically use a 23–24mm focal length, so this shift could deliver a more natural perspective that many photographers prefer.
Large 1/1.12-inch sensor promises strong low-light photography
The main camera on the X300 Ultra uses a 1/1.12-inch sensor, making it one of the largest sensors currently used in smartphones.
A larger sensor allows more light to enter the camera, which generally results in:
- Better low-light performance
- Improved dynamic range
- More natural depth and detail
Vivo claims the camera lens can capture around 30% more light per pixel compared to the previous generation, which should further enhance night photography. The samples released by the company already show good texture detail and natural-looking colors.
External teleconverters enable extreme zoom
Another standout feature is support for external teleconverters, something rarely seen on smartphones.
Vivo has developed two accessories:
- 200mm teleconverter
- 400mm teleconverter
The company even showcased the 400mm version during Mobile World Congress 2026. The camera will support both teleconverters, allowing users to extend the lens focal length and achieve improved zoom capability.
Launch expected soon
Since the samples were released by Vivo itself, they are likely meant to build anticipation ahead of the official launch. Independent camera tests will provide a clearer picture once the device is in reviewers’ hands.
While the company has not confirmed an exact announcement date yet, reports from China suggest that the Vivo X300 Ultra could debut later this month. If Vivo follows its typical release pattern, the launch event may take place on a Monday.
More official details — including pricing and global availability — should emerge as the announcement approaches.
