Speed up your slow Xiaomi phone in 5 minutes

If, therefore, your Xiaomi phone has become slower when compared to its new state, this shouldn’t give you sleepless nights; there are a number of quick fixes that will give improved performance in just a few minutes. Be it too many running applications in the background, low storage, or an older version of software; instantly get back with these fixes to your device:.

1. Clear Cache Data

Everything that is downloaded on your phone stores cache, and it may become wholesome, taking lots of your phone’s storage and even slowing down the performance. By cleaning this cache, you can free up storage as well as boost performance in your Xiaomi phone over time.

How to Clear Cache

  • Open Settings > Apps.
  • Choose which app to clear then tap Clear Cache.

2. Disable or Uninstall Unnecessary Apps

The apps you never use take up memory and system resources, slowing your Xiaomi device down. Identifying and removing them will instantlysort performance out.

How to Disable or Uninstall Apps

  • Settings > Apps > Manage apps.
  • Touch an app you no longer want and then tap Disable or Uninstall.
  • If you do not want to uninstall an app but still want to reduce its footprint on your device, you can disable the background activity:
  • Head to Settings > Battery > Additional features > Clear cache when device is locked.

3. Update Your Software

Xiaomi happens to release a lot of updates for bug fixes or optimizations. Keeping your device up to date ensures that it’s running well and smooth with the latest improvements.

How to Check for Updates

  • Open the Settings app, then go to About Phone > System Update.
  • If an update is available, tap on Download and install it.

4. Use Lite Versions of Apps

The heavy apps will slow down the performance of your Xiaomi phone, especially for those on budget devices. Changing them to lighter versions drastically enhances speed.

Recommended Lite Apps

  • Facebook Lite instead of the full Facebook app.
  • YouTube Go instead of the full YouTube app.
  • Google Go for a lightweight experience.
  • These applications use less storage and require fewer resources, which, in the end, speed up a device.

5. Turn Off Animations

HyperOS, which is Xiaomi’s operating system, uses a number of animations. These tend to slow the phone down after time is taken. The surest way of having the phone snappier again is by disabling or reducing these animations.

How to disable animations

  • Open Settings, then Additional settings, then Accessibility
  • Enable remove animations

6. Free Up RAM

Running applications in the background consumes RAM, hence slowing it down. So, clearing out the RAM will free the Xiaomi phone to focus on active tasks, hence speeding up.

  • Tap the Recent Apps button-meaning the square button at the bottom of the screen.
  • Swipe left or right to hide unused applications, or tap Clear All to close all the recent applications.
  • You can also perform the memory cleaning via the pre-set Security App on Xiaomi phones: just open the app and tap Boost Speed.

7. Reset App Preferences

You can even reset the app preferences if some of the apps or services are slowing it down.  This option will not delete any of your data; however, this will reset all the disabled apps and notifications back to their default settings.

How to Reset App Preferences

  • Settings → Apps → Manage Apps.
  • Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and select Reset App Preferences.

These are some easy tricks that will help you tune your Xiaomi phone in less than 5 minutes and give it a performance boost. Be it clearing the cache, turning off animations, or updating your device-whatever you do, it’s going to contribute to smoother performance. And, mainly, having a habit of following such tips on a regular basis will extend the period of time when your Xiaomi phone gives its best performance.
