REDMI Turbo 5 registered with 100W fast charging and new battery design

Xiaomi’s upcoming Redmi Turbo 5 has officially been registered with China’s telecommunications authority, revealing support for 100W wired fast charging. This marks a significant upgrade from the previous generation, indicating that Xiaomi is preparing to push the limits of battery technology and charging efficiency once again.

New Battery Architecture and Improved Efficiency

Industry insider @DigitalChatStation confirmed that the Redmi Turbo 5 will feature 100W wired charging, sparking discussions about what other improvements it might bring. Speculation includes the adoption of a new Dimensity 8-series processor, a flat AMOLED display, and a larger silicon-based battery. These upgrades could make the Turbo 5 a balanced powerhouse in the mid-range segment, aiming to redefine the price-to-performance ratio.

The device is expected to target the CNY 2,000 (~USD 275) price segment in China, positioning it below the flagship Redmi K series while retaining top-tier performance capabilities.

Battery Breakthrough: Up to 10,000mAh in Testing

Earlier reports also revealed that Xiaomi has been testing a 9000mAh± single-cell silicon battery paired with 100W flash charging technology, with ongoing evaluations for a 10,000mAh prototype. Commenters believe this project is directly linked to the Redmi Turbo 5 series, as it aligns with Xiaomi’s recent focus on energy-dense batteries and improved thermal efficiency.

If confirmed, the Redmi Turbo 5 could become one of the first mid-range smartphones to pair such a high-capacity battery with ultra-fast charging, offering outstanding endurance for gaming and multimedia use.

Comparison with the Redmi Turbo 4 Series

For reference, the Redmi Turbo 4 featured the Dimensity 8400-Ultra chip in its standard variant and the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 in the Pro version. Both models supported 90W fast charging, with battery capacities of 6550mAh and 7550mAh respectively, alongside premium features like IP68 protection and a 1.5K LTPS display.

With the new 100W system, the Turbo 5 is expected to outpace its predecessor not only in charging speed but also in long-term battery health and system optimization under HyperOS.
