Emir BardakçıThe much-awaited HyperOS 2 update is now rolling out to Redmi Note 12 Pro and Pro+ 5G smartphones in China, bringing the new Alive Design Philosophy and several enhancements to the systems of these top-selling mid-range smartphones. This is yet another step in the release of the firm’s newest operating system to its extensive lineup of smartphones, though this will be the last significant update to these particular.
Update Availability and Information
The update bears the version number OS2.0.1.0.UMOCNXM and is based on Android 14. The update is currently only rolling out to China region devices. The February 2025 security patch is joined by several new features and optimizations with this Mi Pilot release.
Users can download the recovery ROM directly from Xiaomi servers:

Last Major Update
Unfortunately for Redmi Note 12 Pro and Pro+ 5G users, Xiaomi has now confirmed that this will be the final major update on the two handsets. The handsets will not support HyperOS 2.1 nor the upcoming HyperOS 3 that is currently in development specifically for Android 15-compatible handsets. While it’s the final piece of the major update roadmap, this HyperOS 2 update significantly refreshes the user experience on these devices with modern features and security updates that extend their useful life.
I hope the hyperOs 3.0 update includes Redmi 14c because hyperOs 2 was not updated
