Redmi Note 10S users, are you guys still waiting for the Xiaomi HyperOS update?

The plan was that any device running Android 13 would eventually be updated to Xiaomi HyperOS. This expectation further expanded to all devices equipped with Android 13, which must have received HyperOS 1.0. But Xiaomi has now decided not to roll out this update for the Redmi Note 10S either – much like every other Redmi Note 10 series devices. It will end the update journey with Android 13-based MIUI 14 for the Redmi Note 10S.

Adding to the frustration was this supposedly unjust situation with regard to the Redmi Note 10 Pro. Considering that this model was a high-end version for the same launches as the Redmi Note 10S, it also did not receive an update to HyperOS. On the other hand, its rebadged sibling—launched two years later and boasting exactly the same specs under the name Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G—did receive the update to HyperOS. Consequently, the Redmi Note 10 Pro is put on the EOS (End of Support) list as a result.

Interestingly, the Redmi Note 10S has not appeared in the EOS list of Xiaomi yet. Maybe the reason is additional support prolonged to the Redmi Note 11 SE, the rebranded version of the Redmi Note 10S launched a year after. This extended support for the Redmi Note 11 SE might explain why the Redmi Note 10S still retains some level of support, even if it’s not getting the latest updates.

What Does this Mean to a Redmi Note 10S User?

While no doubt this news turns out to be disappointing for those who held out for the latest features and improvements that would come in with HyperOS, rest assured that the device will act otherwise as usual. They can still benefit from the stability and features of MIUI 14 and Android 13, even if they don’t get the newer innovations which HyperOS brings along.

This move makes Xiaomi dust many users of the Redmi Note 10S, more so considering that there appears to be inconsistency between devices from the same series or their rebranded versions. However, if the Redmi Note 10S then continued not to appear on this EOS list, that may point to lingering support for this model—just not in the HyperOS update everyone anticipated. As Xiaomi keeps working on improving its stance regarding software and support, the user can only hope to see clearer communication of these goals in the near future, accompanied by more consistent update policies.

Honestly disappointing, Hyper OS should be downloaded on all Redmi 10. 2022 and Redmi Note 10 phones all of them

Is nobody going to talk how they did the Redmi Note 10 dirty?! They upgraded all of the others in the Redmi Note 10 Series to Android 13 EXCEPT the Redmi Note 10 was left on MIUI 14 with Android 12

Xiaomi do all there phone users dirty. They release with old android system so they don’t get support for as long as they should be. Redmi note 10s should of been released with Android 12 and miui 13 but it only had Android 11 and miui 12.5

They may think it’s just an empty threat but this rubbish they did will cause the Xiaomi company to loose a lot of customers as I already made up my mind to go back to my Samsung as long as I don’t receive hyper OS on my Redmi note 10s.

And we will not leave aside the injustice that the POCO M5s also had, because Xiaomi is not at all organized when it comes to updates, why can they never do something right?

I received security update 2024-07-01 in my Redmi Note 10s a week ago, so I hope we can still receive more updates for this great mobile phone.

I think Hyper OS needs to be available for all devices from 2020 and above. I’m using a Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite and I’m stuck at MIUI 13. There is a ROM for MIUI 14 on my phone, but I don’t like to use ROMS.
