Redmi Note 10 receives final update with MIUI 14, ending support

It’s just been confirmed that the highly popular flagship of Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 10, finally got its last update with the just-rolled-out October 2023 security update based on MIUI 14. Presumably, this would ultimately cover support for the device, with many users getting nostalgic over their journey with this beloved model.

Final Software Update Details

The latest update for the Redmi Note 10 comes with the version number V14.0.9.0.SKGMIXM was rolled out today with October 2023 security patch. Though this is the October 2023 update, for all practical purposes, it represents the final official update from Xiaomi as far as the Redmi Note 10 series is concerned. The previous update arrived in October 2023 with same security patch, and it suggested a gradual closeout of frequency and range as the device was getting toward the end of its lifecycle.

What’s New in the Final MIUI 14 Update?

Although the company hasn’t added many new features to this last update, it guarantees that the Redmi Note 10 works as stably and effectively as possible regarding advanced functionality. According to the manufacturers, several improvements and bug fixes in this update for MIUI 14 for the Redmi Note 10 are aimed at fine-tuning the user experience.

Even security patch is same as last update.

Redmi Note 10 Legacy

Since its launch in early 2021, the Redmi Note 10 has been an instant favorite among budget-conscious consumers who want robust features at an affordable price tag. With its AMOLED Display and Snapdragon 678 processor, coupled with a decent camera setup, the Redmi Note 10 set big goals for mid-range smartphones.

During its lifecycle, several significant updates were rolled out to the Redmi Note 10, which included multiple iterations of MIUI. It introduced several new features to this device. The updating journey of this Redmi smartphone from MIUI 12 to MIUI 14 itself speaks volumes about Xiaomi’s commitment to extended support concerning functionality and security for their devices.

What This Means for Redmi Note 10 Users

Since any official updates will cease to be released, Redmi Note 10 users will not have new features or significant system upgrades anymore. Of course, the phone will just work, but from the security perspective, a user should consequently be very aware that Xiaomi will no longer issue future updates related to the possible vulnerabilities found.

Those wishing to have the latest features and security patches running their device can look into custom ROMs, often community-driven and supporting devices well beyond the official end-of-life. While such ways are available, again, it involves having some technical knowledge and runs the risk of voiding your warranty, so it should be pursued with extreme caution.

The fact that the Redmi Note 10 has reached the end of updates reminds one of the continuous change that technology is and the life cycles that underline electronic gadgets. As users move to upgrade, the smartphone market has different offerings in newer models that succeeded the legacy of the Redmi Note 10 with improved hardware and software features.

Well, if you’re still holding on to that Redmi Note 10, this last MIUI 14 update will ensure it prevents your device from being completely dead and as secure as possible for at least the near future. Redmi Note 10 has been an absolute beast of a device in Xiaomi’s lineup, and it will be remembered very clearly for pretty long after the last update is received.

My Redmi note10 4g is a device that has completed me. Before, I was constantly changing phones, dissatisfied and wanting something more than a phone. That’s when I met and bought my first Xiaome in 2021 and that was it. Since then I haven’t been interested in any other. Now I’m going to buy another updated Xiaome device but I don’t intend to throw my Redmi note10 4g away at all. It is still new and comes with everything original in the box and the charger is still original I am very zealous for ele❤️
