REDMI K90 series officially launched in China

Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi K90 Series, introducing two major models — the Redmi K90 Standard Edition and the Redmi K90 Pro Max. Both devices combine flagship performance, cutting-edge display technology, and Redmi’s signature value-driven pricing. The series introduces new milestones such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite processorBose-tuned stereo speakers, and Redmi’s first-ever 5X periscope telephoto camera.

Redmi K90 Standard Edition: Balanced design meets flagship power

The Redmi K90 Standard Edition is the perfect balance of design, battery life, and flagship performance. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the phone provides smooth multitasking and stable gaming experience. The phone has a 7100mAh Jinshajiang battery, supported by 100W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse charging, with exceptional stamina for the class.

The K90 features a 6.59-inch Super Pixel Full RGB display with 2510×1156 resolution and 419 PPI. The display is constructed from M10 luminous material and features Qingshan Eye Protection 3.0, ambient color temperature identification, and DC dimming for relaxed viewing. A 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and wet touch 2.0 offer more convenient usage in daily life.

Optically, it has a 50MP primary sensor50MP telephoto (2.5X optical zoom), and 8MP ultra-wide lens, providing a strong camera performance. The audio system, which was collaborated with Bose, provides deep and immersive stereo sound. K90 also has IP68 dust and water protectionmulti-function NFCinfrared remote control, and X-axis linear vibration motor.

Redmi K90 Pro Max: The new performance standard with Snapdragon 8 Elite

The Redmi K90 Pro Max takes the flagship experience to a new level. Equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and a dedicated AI D2 graphics chip, it delivers next-generation gaming and AI computing power. The Pro Max introduces Redmi’s largest battery to date — a 7560mAh high-density Jinshajiang cell, supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, along with bypass power and reverse charging options.

The phone’s 6.9-inch 120Hz OLED display utilizes Xiaomi’s M10 luminous materialSuper Pixel RGB arrangement, and Xiaomi Qingshan Eye Protection 3.0 technology for enhanced visual clarity and eye comfort. The display supports DC dimmingcircular polarization 2.0, and 1-nit ultra-low brightness for night use.

At the rear, Redmi K90 Pro Max offers a 50MP Light Hunter 950 main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP 5X periscope telephoto camera — the first ever in Redmi history. The periscope module offers 5X optical zoom and 10X lossless zoom, aided by OIS stabilization and top-of-the-line HDR performance like the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max.

The acoustic audio system of the phone, optimized by Bose, offers a 2.1-channel stereo setup with two super-linear drivers and an independent large subwoofer. It also includes IP68+IP69 water resistance, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and a sleek metal crater camera Deco look with a curved metal frame. The colors include Golden WhiteBlack, and Denim Blue (nano-leather finish).

Redmi K90 Pro Max Champion Edition: Lamborghini Squadra Corse collaboration

Xiaomi also introduced a special Redmi K90 Pro Max Champion Edition, created in collaboration with Lamborghini Squadra Corse. Based on the 16GB + 1TB variant, this limited edition model features an exclusive design inspired by Lamborghini’s racing aesthetics.

The Champion Edition is priced at 5,499 yuan (≈ $755) and includes a crater-style metal DECO design, laser-engraved speaker details, and unique visual elements representing Lamborghini’s racing DNA. Beyond aesthetics, it retains the full flagship configuration — the Snapdragon 8 Elite, D2 graphics chip, and a superior cooling system with Xiaomi’s 6700mm² 3D ice-sealed circulation pump.

Global release: POCO F8 Pro and POCO F8 Ultra

While the Redmi K90 series will be China-only for now, Xiaomi had confirmed that both handsets will cross borders to other countries under the POCO brand. The Redmi K90 will be released as POCO F8 Pro, and the Redmi K90 Pro Max will be released as POCO F8 Ultra.

These devices will have identical hardware and design requirements, fine-tuned for international networks and software configurations. Global launch is expected to take place in early 2025, positioning POCO’s F8 lineup among the year’s strongest flagship killers.
