REDMI has officially announced that the new REDMI K90 Pro Max will go on sale on October 23 at 19:00 (China time), with the brand’s most powerful main camera to date. The device is equipped with the Light Hunter 950 sensor, the very same cutting-edge imaging sensor used in the Xiaomi 17. This places a flagship’s photography features in the Redmi line, placing it in the premium category.
Light Hunter 950: Pro Max flagship photography for K90 Pro Max
The Light Hunter 950 sensor boasts a beautiful 1/1.31-inch ultra-large format with excellent light intake and dynamic range capability. It supports 13.5EV high dynamic range and contains DXG high dynamic technology, allowing detailed and vibrant photo shooting in complex lighting situations.
The camera also boasts a 1G+6P glass-plastic hybrid lens and piece-by-piece coating technology, which in effect reduces glare and improves overall image quality. This configuration enables the Redmi K90 Pro Max to offer a photography experience that would not differ significantly from Xiaomi flagships.
Targeting the acme of its category
Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing emphasized that the Redmi K90 Pro Max is the most powerful phone in the 4,000 yuan+ ($550+) category. With top-tier camera equipment and powerful performance capabilities, it is built to conquer the mid-premium segment and overturn much more expensive competitors.
Since Redmi fills the gap between budget and flagships, K90 Pro Max could be the start of a new generation of smartphone photography for cost-conscious consumers.
