Redmi 14C 5G coming soon: Snapdragon 4 Gen 2

On October 15, the tech media outlet MySmartPrice had a fascinating update on the new entry-level phone from Xiaomi. The 5G variant of Xiaomi’s Redmi 14C has been spotted roaming in the GeekBench database; also, some very notable upgrades from its predecessor, 4G, are there. It may be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip, promising a big boost in performance. This device is same with Redmi 14R 5G.

Major Performance Improvements

Presuming by the hump “I” in the model suffix, 2411DRN47I is the model number for an Indian market version of the 5G variant of the Xiaomi Redmi 14C. The phone ran GeekBench 6.3.0 and scored 917 and 2182 points in single-core and multi-core performance, respectively.

Pitted against the 4G version that runs on the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra, though, and there are some notable performance increases:

Design and Specifications

Besides performance upgrades, there will naturally be several design and hardware improvements for the 5G version of the Redmi 14C. Sources involved in HyperOS source code and the GSMA IMEI database suggest that the 5G variant would serve as an obvious iteration of the design presently used by Redmi 12R.

It features a 6.88-inch screen with IPS LCD, a 120Hz refresh rate, HD+ resolution, and a peak brightness of up to 600 nits to guarantee smooth visuals for a good viewing experience. It is also expected to come fitted with a 5160mAh battery capacity, which should amount to decent endurance for daily usage. Moreover, the phone is reportedly capable of supporting fast charging at 18W to allow for fast charge intervention. As for cameras, the 5G variant of the Redmi 14C could sport a dual-camera setup on the rear where the main sensor could be a 13-megapixel shooter.
