Technology media Gizmochina has recently reported traces of the upcoming Redmi 14 and POCO M7 smartphones in the GSMA IMEI database. Expected to release smartphones in the second quarter of 2025, it has created huge buzz among tech enthusiasts.
Xiaomi Redmi 14
The IMEI database revealed a total of four different variants of the Redmi 14 4G. Each model variation is aimed at different regions and their respective market needs. Device codes found for these models were “watt” and “volt.” Following are the variants that have surfaced:
- 25028RN03L, Latin American version
- 25028RN03I: Indian version
- 25028RN03Y: NFC-enabled global version
- 25028RN03A: Global version, non-NFC
Different variants also point to Xiaomi’s strategy to suit certain features for specific markets, like NFC support.
POCO M7
Apart from Redmi 14, the IMEI database also revealed the POCO M7 4G with three model variants. These models include:
- 25028PC03G: Global version without NFC
- 25028PC03I: India
- 25028PC03Y: NFC-enabled global version
Therefore, similar to what happened on the Redmi 14, the ending letter of the model number denotes the market that the device will be released in. Obviously, “Y” should represent the global version with NFC, “G” representing the global non-NFC one, and “I” for the Indian one.
Expected Features and Launch Timeline
While the IMEI database listing does not carry any hardware specifications for the Redmi 14 and POCO M7, these devices are expected to follow in the footsteps of previous generations. Considering what has surfaced, this may be more of an incremental update that shores up processing power and increases battery life, probably with minor tweaks in the camera department. Considering the regular release cycle, both models should be officially announced in Q2 of 2025. Without any major upgrades, the Redmi 14 and POCO M7 will still be good options in the budget and mid-range segments for people seeking decent performance at a low price.
As traces of the Redmi 14 and POCO M7 have already been found in the IMEI database, one thing is pretty sure: Xiaomi is preparing ground for new releases in the year 2025. Although it will not be anything revolutionary, this will allow region-specific configurations or options such as NFC upon request. The technology enthusiast will get a chance to see the phones next year, and the reaction of the market is surely going to be interesting to watch.
