Qualcomm announces new ‘Dragonwing’ brand

Qualcomm has rolled out a brand-new brand named Qualcomm Dragonwing that will be focused on industrial and embedded Internet of Things (IoT), network and cellular infrastructure offerings. This will be a large leap beyond the company’s existing Snapdragon brand that has been focused mainly on consumer electronics such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops.

Meet Snapdragon’s ‘Brother’ Brand: Qualcomm Yuelong

Qualcomm has also set up the Yuelong brand that will be independent of Snapdragon. Snapdragon has moved beyond powering the smartphone to the laptop and the tablet and even the workstation and Yuelong (Dragonwing) will try and build an independent brand image of its own for Qualcomm’s upcoming line of offerings. This move signifies the company’s attempts at entering the larger technology fields.

“As we further diversify, the underlying constituents of our platforms and solutions—artificial intelligence, compute, and connectivity—become relevant to an expanding set of industries,” Qualcomm’s Chief Marketing Officer Don McGuire detailed in a blog post.

Qualcomm Yuelong (Dragonwing) encompasses a set

Under the brand Yuelong, Qualcomm has a series of hardware, software, and services that comprise:

  • Enhanced AI capabilities for use in industrial and IoT contexts
  • High-Performance Low-Power Computing at scale
  • Unmatched Connectivity built with speed and reliability

This move marks the company’s determination to offer top-notch AI, networking, and industrial IoT solutions and set apart its enterprise and customer offerings.

While Snapdragon leads the field in the consumer tech space, Dragonwing (Yuelong) will revolutionise the industrial and infrastructure sector with state-of-the-art technologies and higher performance.
