OPPO has started rolling out its March 2026 security patch update for eligible devices in China, bringing improved system security alongside an upgraded AI Call Fraud Prevention feature. The update is part of the latest ColorOS release and focuses on helping users detect and avoid fraudulent calls more effectively.
While similar to the call screening feature available on Google Google Pixel devices, OPPO’s system goes a step further by analyzing call conversations in real time and identifying suspicious patterns.
AI Call Fraud Prevention Gets Smarter
According to OPPO, the upgraded AI Call Fraud Prevention feature can intelligently analyze call content and detect various fraudulent semantics during a conversation. When suspicious activity is identified, the system automatically displays a pop-up alert to warn users of potential risks.
The feature can also recognize AI-generated or synthesized voices, which are increasingly used in scam calls. In addition, it can detect more than 10 different types of common fraud scripts, enabling the system to provide timely warnings while the call is still in progress.
This functionality aims to help users make quick decisions during suspicious calls and avoid falling victim to scams.
OPPO Releases ColorOS Anti-Fraud Setup Guide
Alongside the update, OPPO has also introduced a ColorOS Anti-Fraud Setup Guide to help users better protect their devices. The guide covers several security tools available in ColorOS, including AI call fraud prevention, call and SMS blocking, risky app blocking, payment protection, and the ColorOS confidential computing space.
These features are designed to work together to provide an additional layer of protection against online and phone-based fraud.
Gradual Rollout Begins in China for the March security patch
The update has started rolling out today in China and, as usual, will be distributed in batches. This means it may take a few days before it reaches all eligible devices.
For now, the rollout is limited to China, and OPPO has not yet confirmed when the March 2026 security patch will be released globally. It is also unclear whether the upgraded AI call fraud detection tools will be available to users outside China with the next update.
However, there is a good chance that similar security features could arrive in global ColorOS updates in the coming months as OPPO continues to enhance its AI-powered safety tools.
