OPPO wipes out the MariSilicon website after the shutdown of ZEKU, no self-developed chips anymore.

OPPO has removed the pages related to MariSilicon from their official website after shutting down OPPO’s chip manufacturing subsidiary, ZEKU. The shutdown of ZEKU implies that they will cease to manufacture chips in-house.

MariSilicon X and MariSilicon Y

OPPO manufactured two different chips named as MariSilicon X and MariSilicon Y, MariSilicon X is an ISP chip, while MariSilicon Y is an audio chip. MariSilicon chips have previously been used in the OPPO’s flagship devices, such as OPPO Find X5 Pro and OPPO X6 Pro.

OPPO stated that the shutdown of their chip manufacturing subsidiary, ZEKU, was a challenging decision and was made due to the uncertain global economic conditions. As a result, MariSilicon chips will no longer be used in OPPO phones.

OPPO’s MariSilicon web page which was active for a long time but it has disappeared as of today. Some websites including Oppo News, had reported that OPPO will stop manufacturing chips in-house, and the removal of MariSilicon website actually validates the reports.
