OPPO, OnePlus and Realme within BBK company are parting ways in India

OPPO, OnePlus and Realme companies within BBK company are parting ways in India. China’s largest smartphone maker, BBK Company, has restructured its company operations in India and made its three brands OPPO, OnePlus and Realme independent entities. This is because Chinese companies in India are facing excessive investigations and OPPO is being investigated for alleged customs tax evasion. It’s also stated that this move is seen as a way to protect the business from future government actions.

BBK Company is having troubles at India

According to reports from The Economic Times, BBK Company had to restructure its corporate operations in India, making its three brands OPPO, OnePlus and Realme independent entities. Sales and distribution of OnePlus and Realme, which used to be sold under the OPPO brand, were transferred to their legal entities OnePlus India and Realme India, respectively. OPPO India company will now be solely responsible for the sales and distribution of OPPO devices. Biggest factor in this move is that Chinese companies in India have faced the government on every issue recently. It’s also an important factor that OPPO India is under investigation for allegedly evading customs duty of Rs 4,388.

OPPO India has concerns that about Rs 2,082 of money is currently blocked in its frozen bank accounts, which poses a threat to the future of BBK Company. Finally, it was stated in the report that OnePlus India has started signing deals with major retail chains and their distributors in India, and Realme India will soon begin to do so. OPPO will continue to produce all three smartphone brands for now. The Economic Times report in question is available here. We will keep you informed of developments in the coming days.
