OPPO has begun rolling out the Android 16-based ColorOS 16 update to more A-series devices, even though an official release roadmap is yet to be published. The update is currently rolling out in phases, meaning availability is limited to select users and regions. Early reports confirm that users in the Philippines have started receiving the new software, with a broader rollout across Asia expected soon.

The Android 16-based ColorOS 16 update arrives with firmware version CPH2781_16.0.4.600(EX01) and has a download size of about 2.53GB. Users are advised to install the update over a stable Wi-Fi connection, ensure their device has at least 50% battery, and back up important data before proceeding.

While the update introduces smoother animations, improved system performance, and general optimizations, some anticipated features appear to be missing. Early adopters have noted the absence of live updates and certain AI-driven features such as motion wallpapers. This is not entirely surprising, as these features are typically resource-intensive and often limited to higher-end devices.

Despite these omissions, the update still delivers a noticeable improvement in overall user experience. Users who are eligible can check for the update by navigating to Settings > System & Update > Software Update. Since the rollout is currently tied to beta testing, interested users can also enroll via the beta program section within the software update page to gain early access. With OPPO gradually expanding the rollout, more regions are expected to receive the update in the coming days.
