Mi Transfer now has a “my devices only” feature

Mi Transfer, in the latest HyperOS Experience Enhanced Version Beta, now supports the “Same account devices only” option. That is, you can transfer files between devices registered under the same Xiaomi account without that somewhat inconvenient 10-minute time limit. When you turn this feature on, older devices or those running systems that don’t support it will no longer be able to discover one another-majorly cleaning up the entire file-sharing process while also safeguarding it a bit.

It is another step forward in optimizing connectivity between devices by Xiaomi. Mi Transfer had always been quite handy for the exchange of files across devices from Xiaomi. This new limitation, which has now been introduced for unsupported devices, is a reinforcement that Xiaomi is focusing on enhancing security and performance across its ecosystem.

It’s interesting to see users note further in the upgrade that, while it works, the demonstration pictures/animations for Mi Transfer are still made for an older version of the software. It does beg some questions regarding visual consistency in the rollout of updates. These inconsistencies will hopefully be sorted out by future Beta updates, which would fully align the visual interface to the new functionalities. If you want to test this feature early, just update your Mi Share App.

This update is in addition to other enhancements with the HyperOS Beta program, including a redesign of the Side Toolbox and system-level optimizations. Xiaomi doesn’t stop working to further improve HyperOS for smoother, faster, and more secure user experiences on the company’s devices.
