MediaTek to introduce new flagship SoC Dimensity 9400e

MediaTek has made the official announcement via social media that they will unveil one member of the Dimensity 9400 flagship series of mobile chips next week. According to timing and leaks, the new chip is likely to be the Dimensity 9400e, which is regarded by industry insiders as a more powerful version of the Dimensity 9300+. The move comes at the right time as top smartphone brands like OnePlus are set to launch devices using the new MediaTek chip. This move is part of MediaTek’s ongoing efforts to challenge the dominance of Qualcomm in the premium mobile processor market.

Rebranded for Power

Recent information shows that what was formerly referred to as the MediaTek Dimensity 9350 has now been reclassified as “Dimensity 9400e.” This processor is essentially the upgrade of the Dimensity 9300 architecture and should rightly be referred to as the “Dimensity 9300++” in regards to capabilities and performance. This new chip is set to challenge the likes of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 from Qualcomm in the upper-end smartphone market.
