The tech leader highlighted Xiaomi’s impressive 15-year journey focusing on mobile phones, automobiles, smart homes, and smart manufacturing.
AI Integration and Global Market Strategy
During the interview, Lei Jun emphasized the company’s dedication to incorporating cutting-edge AI technology across their product lineup. “We must be determined to apply the latest AI technology to our various terminal products, so that consumers can experience the wonderful life brought by technology,” he stated, highlighting Xiaomi’s commitment to enhancing user experience through technological innovation.
Remarkable Growth in Q3 2024
The company’s financial performance reflects this strategic vision, with significant growth across multiple divisions:
Mobile and AIoT Division
The mobile phone and AIoT division demonstrated robust performance, generating revenue of RMB 82.8 billion in the third quarter, marking a 16.8% year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, innovative business divisions, including smart electric vehicles, contributed RMB 9.7 billion to the company’s revenue.
Platform and Device Growth
Xiaomi’s ecosystem continues to expand impressively:
- Global monthly active users reached 685.8 million in September 2024, showing a 10.1% year-on-year growth
- Connected IoT devices (excluding smartphones, tablets, and laptops) on Xiaomi’s AIoT platform increased to 861.4 million, demonstrating a substantial 23.2% year-on-year growth
These figures underscore Xiaomi’s successful execution of its dual strategy: strengthening its domestic market presence while expanding its global footprint and enhancing the international influence of Chinese technology products.
