Xiaomi has launched the “Star Grey” version of its Bluetooth speaker, which is likely to strike the markets this autumn at the introductory price of 449 yuan. The Bluetooth speaker was launched in February this year at 499 yuan in only black. This newly launched color has merged with the list of Xiaomi’s lineup products, including Xiaomi Bluetooth Speaker Mini, which was launched earlier this year with a summer-exclusive “light brown” color.
Equipped with the 5-unit flagship acoustic configuration, the Xiaomi Bluetooth Speaker is aiming for outdoor use. It adds 360° omnidirectional sound driven by a combination of dual high-frequency units and runway-type mid- and low-frequency units and is capable of up to 40W power output at 93dB volume. Supported by Bluetooth 5.3 and LHDC, it offers high-quality music playback.
The speaker is also integrated with Xiaomi’s Pengpai Zhilian platform for deep linkage with the Xiaomi mobile phone. It supports NFC touch connection and is able to pair with two phones simultaneously. The user can link up to 8 units of the Xiaomi Bluetooth speakers for stereo or multi-speakers. Besides that, there are 12 LED lamp beads on the front panel of the speaker for different lighting effects that can be set through the Mi Home App.
With IP67 dust and water resistance, it houses a 4800mAh battery that will see up to 17 hours of playtime, and 22.5W fast charging also means that the speaker is good to go for outdoor activities. It also acts like a power bank in emergencies.
This release epitomizes Xiaomi’s commitment to versatile yet stylistically appealing audio devices: functional and aesthetic.
Bigger fonts and higher battery capacity would make a lot of people buy it.
