HyperOS 3 Beta removes restrictions — Hyper Island is now for Everyone

Xiaomi has recently broadened access to its “Hyper Island” feature, previously reserved exclusively for flagship models, by removing internal restrictions in the latest HyperOS 3 Beta release. This update now allows Hyper Island to function on all Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices, including tablets and lower-end smartphones. The company eliminated device-specific tags (such as IS_PAD and isLowLevel) that previously limited compatibility, demonstrating a move toward greater inclusivity across its product range.

What is Hyper Island?

Hyper Island, inspired by Apple’s Dynamic Island, is Xiaomi’s integrated notification and background activity management interface, positioned at the top of the display. While originally optimized for high-performance devices, recent improvements have enabled the feature to run smoothly even on devices with less powerful hardware.

This transition reflects Xiaomi’s broader strategy of promoting consistency and feature parity across its device ecosystem. By making flagship-level UI experiences available on more affordable products, Xiaomi aims to enhance user satisfaction and device longevity within the HyperConnect ecosystem.

But on some devices, Dynamic Island will work without animations.

Users participating in the HyperOS 3 Beta program will automatically receive Hyper Island with the latest update. For those seeking further customization or immediate access to system app updates, the MemeOS Enhancer app provides an additional pathway to unlock new features and manage OTA updates.

This development aligns with Xiaomi’s ongoing commitment to delivering a unified and comprehensive user experience across all device categories.

Commendable! I was about ditching them to Origin OS.

Well thats fantastic. Finally we’ll get HyperIsland feature for all Xiaomi phones that received HyperOS 3 updates, even for low-end devices. I do hope we’ll get those animations on HyperIsland for midrange devices like the Redmi Note Series tho 🙂🙂
