Gemini Live is quietly showing up on some Xiaomi devices

In this respect, the long-expected feature of Gemini Live turns to be on-dry on the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, whereas it was announced to make its first appearance with the Xiaomi 14T series.

Xiaomi announced that Gemini Live would come to their devices during the 14T series launch, after Samsung and Google announced the activation date of October 6, 2024. However, as reported by a user on X, with the update of the Google app to its latest Beta version (15.38.49), Gemini Live started working ahead of schedule.

This feature was not expected to hit the Redmi Note devices this early; a feature introducing real-time interactivity, much like Samsung’s and Google’s live features. This is extremely great news for users of the Note 13 Pro 5G, who can now enjoy this innovative function without having to wait for the official date of release.

What is Gemini Live?

Gemini Live by Google, under the Gemini Advanced suite, utilizes AI to enable users to have seamless, real-time conversational experiences. Similar to ChatGPT, it features voice capabilities, enabling users to engage in a more dynamic two-way conversation with an AI, even allowing for interruptions mid-response for a more organic engagement.

It has several voices to choose from and supports hands-free mode-a mode in which even conversations when the phone is locked are possible. What perhaps completes the popularity of Gemini Live is its upcoming multimodality, whereby users will be able to interact with the AI in a visual input-like photos and videos.

How to use Gemini Live on Xiaomi?

As per the user who tried, updating to Google Beta version 15.38.49 enabled Gemini Live on his Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, despite Xiaomi saying that the above feature would go live for the series 14T on October 6, 2024.

This early activation hints that the feature might roll out gradually on more Xiaomi devices sooner than expected, which comes as an unexpected surprise amongst the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G users. More updates are in order from Xiaomi regarding this consideration for official confirmation. This early rollout of Gemini Live is indicative of the fact that Xiaomi is committed to bringing the latest features across all devices, even to a mid-tier model like the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G. Stay tuned for further updates as Gemini Live becomes officially available on more devices!
