Routine Maintenance, No Critical Alarms
According to the latest Android Security Bulletin released by Google, there are no “critical” zero-day vulnerabilities or high-severity exploits flagged for immediate remediation this month. Consequently, this update appears to be a standard maintenance package focused on system stability, minor bug fixes, and protocol updates rather than emergency patching.

Honestly, what does it matter that no critical vulnerabilities were reported in the bulletin? January’s bulletin does have a critical one, December’s is full of high ones and critical kernel vulnerabilities too, neither of those were shipped to even high-end Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco phones.
Their security update game leaves much to be desired, and since there’s no actual public outcry about it, it is business as usual. Pumping out new hardware is the norm, not actual support.
Instead of articles like this, which are appreciated nonetheless, articles stating things are they really are would be much more benefitial.

Basically what @James said. Their update policy is garbage outside of China. Even their flagship phones don’t receive proper support. How is it that the 15U is still on the December patch when it’s almost mid February. There is a reason for monthly security patches/bulletins. But if you mention it on their forums, mods argue with a 3 month cycle that is stated on their website.

You obviously don’t know what you’re talking about.
If I check for updates it says no updates available. If you go e.g. to the hyperosupdates website (which seems to be from the xiaomitime guy) you will see the last one for EU region is 3.0.7.0.
There is a 3.0.8.0 (and yes I downloaded it a week ago or smth because some telegram trackers had it) but if I try to install it verifies but stops for “Other” reason.
It seems they region locked the update specifically to France. All the changelog says is “New: Support for Free 5G SA” which makes sense because Free is a french provider.
But IF they added the January patch (which they don’t even mention in the changelog) and region lock it to a certain country and not the whole EEA region, and one can’t simply check “about” for updates and get it, you should stop calling people clueless.
The whole region change scheme Xiaomi causes people to do to receive updates faster is complete bs as well.
