Xiaomi is gearing up for the next major OS update, HyperOS 2.0, for which lots of new features and improvements are going to come out. However, this update is going to be divided into two versions: one based on Android 14, while the other has been based on Android 15, with the latter offering additional features and changes.
For a better look, here’s what to expect with HyperOS 2.0, which devices will get the update, and when the releases are expected to happen.
HyperOS 2.0: Android 14 vs Android 15
The future HyperOS 2.0 will come in two flavors: a more watered-down one for handsets operating on Android 14, and the fullest-featured version with the newest animations-which are optimized for flagships specifically-for those that boast Android 15.
Features of HyperOS 2.0
- Recent Apps iOS-Style: HyperOS 2.0 comes with a different recent apps menu, taken straight from iOS. It will make multitasking much easier.
- AI Editor Features: Enhanced AI capability allows the editing of photos and videos directly on the device in more sophisticated ways.
- AI Camera Features: The camera application shall apply the use of AI in order to deliver advanced image processing for capturing the best of photos with ease.
- Redesigned Game Turbo 6.0: The feature of Game Turbo is redesigned for better performance and provides more options to customize for gamers.
- New Animations: Smoother and more refined animations in the system enhance the way a user will interact with the device.
- Improved Settings Menu: It was leaked that a modernized settings menu would introduce some new interface that shall make navigation a lot easier, as well as user-friendly.

Dates of Release for HyperOS 2.0
According to the leaks, HyperOS 2.0 will be announced on October 9th, 2024, and will be available immediately in China. The firmware is said to reach global markets no sooner than December 2024, which was the very same happening at the release of HyperOS 1.0.

Will ads still be embedded in Poco X6 Pro? Even setting your own wallpaper or ringtone is so confusing in HyperOS. It is just hype. HyperOS is just more animations and gimmicks. Nothing else

Hi. Bro I don’t know where you get your information but currently Xiaomi 12 series have android 14 already same for 13 series and above. Android 15 is expected to be released for Xiaomi 12 series and above. Maybe you should post the link to those leaks sources.
