Dimensity 9500 benchmark leak shows flagship power

MediaTek is preparing to launch its most advanced processor to date—the Dimensity 9500—aiming squarely at the premium smartphone market. Early leaks confirm that this new flagship chip will be featured in the upcoming Xiaomi 16T, representing a direct challenge to Qualcomm’s dominance in high-end Android handsets. Enhanced processing, improved graphics, and robust AI performance are all in focus, positioning the Dimensity 9500 as a formidable competitor in the segment.

Dimensity 9500: Features and Architecture

MediaTek’s new flagship leverages TSMC’s N3P manufacturing process, which delivers both efficiency gains and performance improvements over previous generations. Key specifications include:

  • 1 x 4.21GHz Travis core for peak performance
  • 3 x 3.50GHz Alto cores for demanding tasks
  • 4 x 2.7GHz Gelas cores focused on power efficiency

For graphics, the Mali-G1-Ultra MC12 GPU incorporates upgraded ray tracing and lower power draw—crucial for both gaming and extended use. The new NPU 9.0 claims up to 100 TOPS, supporting next-level computational photography and on-device AI applications.

Memory and Storage Support

The Dimensity 9500 supports LPDDR5x RAM at up to 10,667Mbps, as well as UFS 4.1 storage. With 16MB L3 cache and 10MB SLC cache, users can expect faster app loading and improved multitasking.

Xiaomi 16T: Next-Gen Experience

The Xiaomi 16T will be among the first to debut with the Dimensity 9500, and it will launch alongside notable HyperOS enhancements. These include refreshed UI icons, improved system animations, redesigned battery and signal indicators, and new dynamic interface features. Xiaomi is also introducing iPhone-style call and SMS forwarding, plus a projected 30% improvement in system performance.

For users interested in early access to beta features and additional system functionality, the MemeOS Enhancer app is available through the Play Store.

Timeline and Industry Impact

MediaTek is expected to officially announce the Dimensity 9500 on September 22, strategically timed ahead of Qualcomm’s next-gen release. The vivo X300 series will be the first to ship with the new chip, followed by the OPPO Find X9 in October. Xiaomi’s 16T launch date is pending official confirmation.

It’s worth noting that the vivo V3+ imaging chip will be exclusive to vivo devices in this round and not available to competitors.
