Did you update the battery firmware of your Xiaomi phone?

New reports from Xiaomi users have revealed a less-conspicuous feature that could potentially breathe new life into your device’s battery. Tucked away in the settings, Xiaomi’s battery firmware update tool allows users to calibrate their device’s power management system. The step is part of Xiaomi’s ongoing efforts to enhance device longevity and refine user experience with software tweaks, particularly since the launch of HyperOS.

The updating process is very straightforward, even if most users are not even aware it exists. To access this feature, navigate to Settings, then Battery, then Additional Features, where you will find the Firmware Update feature. This feature allows users to look for and install the latest battery firmware updates, which can increase charging effectiveness and the overall health of the battery.

Accessing the Battery Firmware Update

Before attempting to update your battery firmware, ensure your device is running the latest version of HyperOS Security. Some users have reported that the firmware update option may not be present until the security app is updated to its latest version. This is to ensure compatibility and maintain system security during the update process.

Benefits of Battery Firmware Updates

Regular firmware updates for the battery can provide several advantages to your Xiaomi smartphone:

  • Enhanced charging algorithms for extended battery life
  • Improved control over power consumption
  • Improved battery level reporting
  • Potential solutions for recognized battery-related issues

Important Considerations

When performing a battery firmware update, it’s crucial that you have sufficient charge in your device and keep the device plugged in throughout the process. It’s also always a good idea to back up your data before any system-level update as a precautionary measure.

I’m beginning to think that this app is fake. because not one update I’ve been told to do has been anywhere on my Redmi note 13+ pro phone. the Google updater just says my phone is up to date. the last security update I got was November 2024. since then nothing. I’ve not even received the HyperOs 2 update yet. although there are still a lot of bugs in the HyperOs 2 date. which is why it’s not come through yet.
