Devs make possible to use HyperOS 2.0 launcher before release

Xiaomi is back with a bang in the tech circle, proclaiming the launch of HyperOS 2.0, with betterment promised toward user experience by the new features and enhancements.

The feature that has become the buzz of the device is the iOS-style recent app switcher. It’s way more intuitive and much better looking in how it lets the user traverse recently used applications. This new switcher differs quite a lot from the standard Android multitasking view and now is way more into what an Apple user could have seen on a device.

Make it possible to port features back from HyperOS 2.0 to HyperOS.

HyperOS 2.0 is set to be released sometime in November, though not everyone will be up to date on that very day. Fortunately, there’s good news for the impatient among us, as industrious users have completed the hard work of bringing the HyperOS 2.0 recent apps switcher to HyperOS 1.0. This was all made possible through a Magisk module that was recently published, allowing the whole experience of HyperOS 2.0 before being released to the public.

How to install iOS-Style Recent Apps Switcher to HyperOS 1.0

To improve the previous activity in HyperOS 1.0 with the recent applications switcher of the new HyperOS 2.0, do the following:

Pre-Requirements

The device needs to have Magisk running for the management of permission to access root and possibly to install new modules.

Setup Guide

  • Root the smartphone with Magisk. This is a famous rooting solution that gives systemless root permission to the smartphone, hence allowing the installation of Magisk modules without touching the system partition.
  • Simply follow on with device-specific instructions to have Magisk flashed. In most cases, you would have to patch the boot image and then flash it via fast boot.
  • Install HyperOS 2.0 Recent Apps Switcher module developed by Kashis Cringey.
  • Open Magisk Manager from your device.
  • Click on the modules section and select ‘install from storage.’ – Now locate the module you have just downloaded and install it.
  • Restart The Phone.
  • Reboot your device after installing the module, or changes will not occur.

What to expect Upon installing and rebooting the device, every time you open the Recent Apps screen on your HyperOS 1.0 device, you will be welcomed by the new iOS-styled Recent Apps switcher. So now, by this, you can scroll smoothly and multitask like a pro, all with the help of an interface that has been made much smoother.

This gives tech enthusiasts the freedom to customize and road-test new features long before they become official. Continue with us below, and you’ll be witnessing that buttery, user-friendly design on the HyperOS 2.0 Recent Apps switcher on your current devices. With the full release of HyperOS 2.0 nearing this November, this module should be the perfect teaser for what awaits you. More on that when Xiaomi pushes the boundaries of what an Android-based HyperOS can do.
