Update life of Xiaomi, POCO, REDMI devices: Full list [February 2026]

In a remarkable step for the world of Androids, Xiaomi has officially extended the software support period of many flagship handsets by a great margin. Being one of the long-term software updates commitments in the business, the move puts Xiaomi among the frontrunners of the Android device lifespan. A number of Xiaomi’s high-end models will receive a full 5-year cycle of security updates, which is a level of support timeline even Apple cannot match. With the long support period, users get the benefits of keeping their handsets safe and running optimally for many more years to come, greatly enhancing the value proposition.

My mobile is Redmi 12. It has a security issue.I have disabled the control panel on its lock screen so that no one can turn on the mobile hotspot without unlocking the mobile. But the problem is that whenever I open the camera, and swiping down the control panel is open. HOW😡

I have issues with my Redmi Note 12 pro 4g. Since the last security update in April 2025. The phone has become very laggy and it gets hot so fast. The camera lags as well. Playing mobile games is very annoying as it lags as well.

Also, I’m curious if we will still be getting the Hyper os updates.
Mine is still on the Hyper os 1.0.17.0.THGMIXM version

I am proud owner of Xiaomi 15 and I love it.
    It is aesthetically beautiful.
Now I am looking towards release of Xiaomi 16 late this year. I request Xiaomi authority to keep exterior design of Xiaomi 16 exactly like Xiaomi 15 and not to change anything except may be it would be slightly slim. Except that no change in exterior design is needed because exterior design of Xiaomi 15 is aesthetically pleasing like camera compartment at the back is rectangular/square shaped which I like very much instead of round shape. Further flash light should be outside of camera compartment as in Xiaomi 15 which is aesthetically pleasing. It is requested to keep same exterior design in Xiaomi 16 also.
For interior design I always love Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 8 elite ay be elite 2 this time.

Xiaomi is a 420 company. The Redmi Note 12 5G has many shortcomings. Despite multiple complaints, there is no response. The developers are useless. I bought the Redmi Note 12 5G and lost money. There is no eraser in the gallery editing, no background eraser. The mobile is useless. Xiaomi is a fraudulent company and does not provide proper updates. I regret buying the mobile and will not make the mistake again.

    Poco F7
It was not mentioned with all categories, so we understand what its position is regarding updates and which category it belongs to. The classification is unfair, and the device is better than some flagship devices. Why this injustice to the device? It is neither a flagship, nor mid-range, nor budget. So what is the standard used? It is confusing.

I really regret choosing this brand. I see that this company will only promote flagship models. I think they don’t care about the rest. I bought the phone almost six months ago, but there hasn’t been a single update. The security patch is from April, and now it’s already October… MemeOS Pro version cannot be purchased in Russia. And there are only promises that everything will be okay. Deadlines are postponed every month. I don’t believe the device will be updated to the next version at all. Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G. I will probably switch to another brand, although the device is good… (it’s a matter of principle)

The Xiaomi 13 series (13, 13 Pro, and 13 Ultra) will receive three years of Android OS updates. This series launched with Android 13. It received Android 14 and 15. Android 16 will be the final update for this series. This means that update support should end in 2027, not 2028. Unfortunately, there’s no official information regarding the Xiaomi 13 series receiving four years of Android OS updates.

I believe there’s a mistake in the list. Redmi Pad 2 Pro shows released in 2024 and has a shorter live than Redmi Pad 2. That placing should be for the Redmi Pad Pro, in which case the fairly recently released Redmi Pad 2 Pro is the one actually missing.

Bruh😓, this phone only has 2 years left. (Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G/Poco X6 5G) When it’s been more than two years, it’s time to move to another phone or install a custom ROM so that it lasts longer.

What are you on brother?! 😂 That first paragraph glazing Xiaomi isn’t fooling anyone haha, maybe those who haven’t gotten any device from the company yet, but that’s about it.

Even now that the EU mandates at least 5 years of security fixes they still deliver them every 4 months or so, the manufacturers that are actually leading in the industry don’t operate like that.

Even then, updates vary a lot device to device, it’s not a cohesive ecosystem. What surprises me is that even so, many people keep clamoring for “new” MIUI/HyperOS/YouNameIt releases. It would be refreshing if things changed, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
