Can Xiaomi reduce ads with HyperOS 3?

Xiaomi’s advertisement system strategy has been one of the most talked-about features among users and enthusiasts over the years, and users are eagerly looking forward to drastic changes in future updates. With HyperOS 3 on the way, there is much speculation as to whether or not this time around, Xiaomi might change its ad policy once and for all.

The recent HyperOS did introduce improved options to turn off most system ads and is one step closer to addressing one of the most common user grievances against MIUI. The change was welcomed by the Xiaomi community, but users are still eagerly looking forward to an all-out solution that would greatly curtail advertisements or provide an option to turn them off completely from the next HyperOS 3 update.

The State of Ads on Xiaomi’s Interface Today

HyperOS brought several improvements to the advertising strategy of Xiaomi over the previous MIUI:

More fine-grained control over advertisement settings Fewer advertisement exposures through system applications More explicit opt-out options during installation

Despite these additions, ads remain all over the system, including pre-installed apps and some system menu screens.

What can change with HyperOS 3

Industry experts and Xiaomi watchers are pointing to several possible changes that are expected to come along with HyperOS 3:

  1. Complete opt-out during initial setup
  2. Ad-free premium plan for Xiaomi users
  3. Regional differences in ad implementations
  4. Additional reduction of advertisements within system applications

A full ad removal option would represent a drastic business model change for Xiaomi, one that has long depended on system advertising as the way to pay for hardware.

The Business Perspective

Xiaomi’s business model had always been predicated upon cheap hardware and advertisement-based monetization. Any divergence from this would mean that the company would have to maintain its revenue streams and optimize user experience.

If Xiaomi does become ad-free, it would potentially integrate other revenue streams such as:

  • Premium subscription services
  • Extended ecosystem integration Enhanced cloud services provided on subscription plans

User Experience Benefits

A reduction or an option to turn off ads altogether would greatly benefit the user experience of Xiaomi phone owners, and this would result in:

  • Cleaner and more professional-looking interface
  • Reduced usage of data and power
  • Improved system performance
  • Higher user satisfaction ratings

Hold up wait a minute do I translate this article to just “Xiaomi love so much money and customer that they decided to have a battle pass build-in the phone to unlock like every other company out there do: have an ad free OS” ?

Nah man that’s just miserable to love so much money to have a paid subscription TO NOD HAVE ADS ?!

If that’s true that they implemented a paid subscription, I think that’s I would not be the only one who just continue using the curent Xiaomi’s phone we have and just throw them right after the phone died because man that’s just some high level disrespect here, I can pardoned some of the shady things Xiaomi do and don’t make (like ads it’s a no for me, not listen to customer it’s a big no, implemente some feature no one wants but never implement some useful one) but man Xiaomi really went too deep in that canyon but I’ll not follow them
