A sneak peek of Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0’s redesigned settings menu

In the world of smartphone operating systems, Xiaomi is shaking things up with its new HyperOS 2.0. A recent leak now gives an early look into the renovated settings menu of HyperOS 2.0, and needless to say, Xiaomi is all set to bring in a vast update from earlier versions.

A Fresh New Look

The visual leak discloses that, at launch, HyperOS 2.0 is going to introduce a different settings menu, way different from the design language viewed during the MIUI days. For years now, the settings menu on Xiaomi’s interface has been characterized by thin line-separated segments. With the coming of HyperOS 2.0, though, Xiaomi is finally going card-based.

Key Design Changes

  • Card Design Segments: Probably the most conspicuous feature added this time around is the card designs in the menu segments within its settings. This design language defines a turn towards modernity and usability.
  • Color Scheme and Aesthetics: Background is the gray for the settings menu, each of the segments will now be enclosed in boxes with rounded corners and a white color. Such contrast would further make the layout presentable and useful.

Expected Features and Optimizations

Although most of the leak shows us skinning changes, it also tells us about the deeper improvements that may be brought by HyperOS 2.0:

  • Enhanced Usability: Card designing will not only help enhance the esthetics but is also sure to guarantee much-improved navigation through the settings menu for ease of access and adjusting one’s desired setting.
  • Consistency and Fluidity: The all-new design highlights consistency and fluency in use across different devices, thereby standing for a unified user experience at Xiaomi.

Expected Release

Xiaomi will probably release the official HyperOS 2.0 in October. At that time, it will deliver not only a new look but also probable performance and functional enhancement to users compared with what the pioneering role of HyperOS 1.0 Beta achieved.

The leaked visuals of the HyperOS 2.0 settings menu prove that indeed, Xiaomi steps up to evolve its interface design. Evolving away from thin-line segmentation and into a more modern, card-based approach, Xiaomi hopes to adapt with the current trends while enhancing user interactivity and satisfaction. With the month of October just around the corner, it fuels the excitement for what else HyperOS 2.0 might bring toward the Xiaomi ecosystem.
