OPPO Find N6 has officially launched in China, with global availability expected today. The device is already drawing attention for its near crease-free foldable display, designed to maintain its form even after long-term use.
While the hardware is impressive, many buyers are more concerned about long-term software support—especially for a premium foldable expected to cost over $1,500 internationally.
OPPO Find N6 gets 6 years of updates
According to OPPO, the Find N6 will receive a total of six years of software support. This includes five major Android OS upgrades and six years of security patches.
The device ships with Android 16 based on ColorOS 16, meaning it should be eligible for updates up to Android 21, alongside future ColorOS versions if OPPO maintains its current naming structure.
This level of support puts OPPO closer to industry leaders, but it still falls slightly short of competitors like Samsung and Google, both of which now offer up to seven years of updates on their flagship devices. Meanwhile, Vivo has also stepped up, promising five Android upgrades and seven years of security patches for select high-end models.
For a flagship foldable like the Find N6, the six-year commitment is solid and reflects OPPO’s growing focus on longevity. However, given the premium pricing and increasing competition, some users may still expect the absolute best in long-term support.
Overall, the OPPO Find N6 delivers strong software longevity, but there is still room for the brand to match or exceed the industry’s highest standards in future releases.
