Vivo V30 starts receiving Android 16-based OriginOS 6 update

The Vivo V30 is now receiving the Android 16-based OriginOS 6 update, marking one of the final major software upgrades for the device. While Android 17 is already in its beta phase, smartphone manufacturers are still completing the rollout of Android 16 to eligible devices.

According to reports from users on Vivo’s official forums, the new firmware has started reaching devices enrolled in the OriginOS trial program. As usual with early releases, the update is currently limited to a small group of testers before a wider public rollout begins.

Firmware version and download size

The new update arrives with firmware version PD2323JF_EX_A_16.2.6.7.W30 and carries a download size of around 4.50GB. Because of the large file size, users are advised to install the update over a stable Wi-Fi connection.

Before installing, make sure your phone has at least 50% battery and that important files are backed up to prevent potential data loss during the installation process.

New features and interface improvements

The Android 16-based OriginOS 6 update introduces several visual and functional improvements to the Vivo V30. Users will notice refreshed system designs, redesigned icons, and improvements to overall system usability.

One of the most notable additions is Origin Island, a new feature designed to display real-time updates from supported apps without requiring users to open them. It also enables more efficient multitasking.

The update also brings improvements to the control center, alongside new clock styles, updated widgets, and enhanced security protections aimed at improving both customization and device safety.

How to install the update on Vivo V30 Android 16-based OriginOS 6

Users who want to install the update can check manually through the Settings app on their device. Since the rollout is currently limited, joining the trial version program may allow you to receive the update sooner.

Follow this path to check:

Settings → System update → Settings (gear icon) → Trial version → Update now

Once available, you can download and install the firmware directly from the system update page.

Possibly the last major Android upgrade

The Vivo V30 originally launched in 2024 running Android 14. The company promised two generations of Android OS updates for the device. With the arrival of Android 16, the phone may have reached the end of its scheduled major OS upgrade cycle.

However, Vivo is still expected to continue delivering security patches and maintenance updates for some time. The company has also been gradually extending software support for newer devices, so future policy changes cannot be ruled out.
