Adimorah JudeVivo is reportedly developing a new mid-range phone that could feature one of the largest batteries ever seen in a mainstream device. While attention is currently focused on the upcoming Vivo X300 Ultra and Vivo X300s, new reports suggest the company is quietly preparing another phone aimed at users who prioritize battery life.
A mid-range phone with a huge battery is in the works
According to recent reports from China, the upcoming device is currently under development and could launch sometime in the middle of the year. The phone’s name has not yet been revealed, but one major detail has already surfaced — it may feature an enormous battery capacity.
Sources claim the device is being tested with a 10,000mAh battery, which would make it one of the biggest batteries ever used in a smartphone. The battery reportedly uses a 4.53 single-silicon cell design, with a rated capacity of 10,000mAh and a typical capacity that could reach between 11,000mAh and 12,000mAh.
If accurate, the device would significantly outperform most current smartphones in terms of battery capacity.
Smartphone battery sizes are growing rapidly
Battery technology in smartphones has improved rapidly in the past few years. Many Chinese smartphone makers are now introducing devices with 7,000mAh to 8,000mAh batteries, particularly in mid-range and gaming phones designed for long endurance.
More recently, some manufacturers have begun experimenting with 9,000mAh battery capacities, pushing battery life even further. This trend makes it increasingly believable that a 10,000mAh smartphone could soon enter the market.
