Xiaomi secures top spot in global cleaning robot shipments

The latest market data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) reveals a significant surge in the global smart cleaning sector. According to the report, total shipments for home cleaning robots are projected to reach 32.72 million units by the end of 2025, marking a 20.1% year-on-year increase.

Global Market Expansion and Performance

The 2025 fiscal year has proven to be a transformative period for the smart cleaning industry. Beyond traditional indoor vacuums, companies have successfully branched out into niche hardware categories, including robotic lawnmowers and specialized pool cleaners.

This diversification has allowed the Xiaomi ecosystem and its competitors to capture a larger share of the professional home maintenance market. The transition toward fully autonomous outdoor solutions has particularly resonated with consumers in North America and Europe, where automated lawn care is seeing record adoption rates.

  • Roborock Dominance: As a key partner in the industry, Roborock shipped 5.8 million units, securing a 17.7% market share with a massive 76.5% growth rate.

  • Xiaomi Performance: Xiaomi maintains a strong position with 2.2 million units shipped, holding a 6.7% market share and showing a steady 10.6% annual increase.

  • Category Growth: The standard robotic vacuum market grew by 17.1%, while window cleaning robots saw a dramatic 70.4% spike in total shipments.

  • Outdoor Innovation: Robotic lawnmowers experienced explosive growth, reaching 1.992 million units as users embrace Xiaomi HyperOS compatible outdoor tools.

  • Specialized Hardware: Pool cleaning robots remained stable, with underground wall-climbing models leading the segment at 2.747 million units.

The industry shows no signs of slowing down as we move into the latter half of the decade. As technology continues to improve, we expect to see even deeper integration between cleaning robots and the broader smart home environment.
