OPPO K13x 5G Android 16-based ColorOS 16 update expands to more users

OPPO continues to expand the rollout of Android 16 with its latest ColorOS 16 interface to more eligible smartphones. Earlier this month, the company confirmed that several devices would begin receiving the stable update, and the OPPO K13x 5G is now among the models getting the upgrade.

The OPPO K13x 5G Android 16-based ColorOS 16 update started rolling out a few days ago, and it is now reaching more users who registered for the early access program.

OPPO K13x 5G Android 16 update rollout details

OPPO initially opened the application window for the Android 16-based ColorOS 16 update for the OPPO K13x 5G in February 2027. Users who successfully applied were among the first to receive the upgrade shortly after the rollout began.

Now, the update is gradually reaching more users. If you have not received the OTA notification yet, make sure your device is running the latest firmware version CPH2753_16.0.3.500(EX01), as devices on older builds may not detect the update.

What to know before installing the update

Since this is a major operating system upgrade, users are strongly advised to back up important data before installing the update. Some system apps may still be adjusting to the new OS, which could temporarily lead to issues such as overheating, system lag, battery drain, or minor bugs.

These issues are usually temporary and should disappear after the device completes background optimization.

It’s also recommended to ensure your phone is properly charged before starting the installation, as the update may take several minutes to download and install.

How to check for the update

If your OPPO K13x 5G has not yet received the update notification, you can manually check by going to:

Settings > System & Update > Software Update

If the update still does not appear, you may need to verify whether the application program is still open. You can do this by navigating to:

Settings > System & Update > Software Update > Tap the top of the page > Tap the icon in the top-right corner > Beta Program > Release Candidate > Apply Now

Once approved, return to the software update page and tap Download Now when the new version becomes available.

More updates expected soon

OPPO is gradually expanding the Android 16-based ColorOS 16 rollout across its lineup. While several devices have already received the update, the company has not yet published a detailed schedule for A-series smartphones.

More information about upcoming rollouts is expected in the coming weeks, and additional OPPO devices should start receiving the update as the expansion continues.
