Vivo Y51 Pro 5G key specs revealed ahead of India launch

Vivo may have focused on its latest innovations at Mobile World Congress 2026, but the company is also preparing to launch a new mid-range smartphone in India. Ahead of the official unveiling, the complete key specifications of the Vivo Y51 Pro 5G have surfaced online.

Like many of Vivo’s Y-series devices, the upcoming model appears to prioritize battery life and reliable performance rather than flagship-level cameras. The phone is expected to feature a massive battery designed to easily last through a full day of heavy use.

Vivo Y51 Pro 5G

Massive 7200mAh battery with fast charging

According to the latest leak, the Vivo Y51 Pro 5G will pack a large 7200mAh battery, which could be one of the biggest batteries in its segment. The device is also expected to support 44W wired fast charging, allowing users to quickly recharge despite the large battery capacity.

Wireless charging support is unlikely, but the phone may include reverse charging, enabling it to power smaller accessories or other smartphones when needed.

MediaTek Dimensity chipset and Android 16

Under the hood, the smartphone is rumored to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Turbo processor, a chipset designed to deliver solid performance for gaming, multitasking, and everyday use.

The device is expected to run OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 out of the box. This should also put it in a good position to receive future updates, including the potential Android 17 upgrade.

Vivo Y51 Pro

120Hz display and improved durability

The Vivo Y51 Pro 5G is tipped to feature a 6.75-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations. The panel may also reach up to 1250 nits of peak brightness, improving visibility outdoors.

Another highlight is the rumored IP68/IP69 rating, which would make the phone resistant to water and dust, a feature that is gradually becoming common among mid-range smartphones.

Camera and multimedia features

For photography, the Vivo Y51 Pro 5G is expected to include a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. While the Y-series usually focuses more on battery life than camera capabilities, the setup should still handle everyday photos. On the front, the device may feature an 8MP selfie camera for video calls and selfies.

Reports also suggest the phone could support 4K video recording, along with stereo speakers and Hi-Res Audio support for an improved multimedia experience.

Expected price and colors

In terms of pricing, leaks suggest the Vivo Y51 Pro 5G could start at ₹24,999 (around $270) for the 8GB + 128GB variant. The 8GB + 256GB model is expected to cost ₹27,999 (around $305).

The smartphone may be available in two color options: Festive Red and Noble Gold. Vivo is expected to announce the official launch date in India in the coming weeks.
