Why is the iPhone 16-like “Xiaomi 18” image 100% fake?

The images of the “Xiaomi 18” circulating on the internet in recent days, which copy the iPhone 16 Pro design, do not reflect reality. Here is the technical proof that this image is just a fan-made creation intended to generate clicks (clickbait):

Contrary to Design Logic

Xiaomi has established its own design language, particularly with its 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 series. For its next flagship device, copying its rival Apple down to the flash position is completely contrary to the brand’s strategy. This image is not a leak; it is simply a Photoshop edit with the Xiaomi logo added to an iPhone case.

Physics Rules: Two 200 MP Cameras Won’t Fit in This Case!

Latest leaks say the Xiaomi 18 series will come with a 200 MP main camera and a 200 MP telephoto camera. However, the design in the image physically contradicts this hardware:

  • Sensor Size: 200 MP sensors (approximately 1/1.4 inches) are physically very large. It is impossible to fit two giant sensors side by side into a cramped iPhone camera island like the one in the image.
  • Periscope Deficiency: A 200 MP telephoto camera requires a rectangular prism “Periscope” structure to refract light. The standard round lenses shown in the image do not have the optical depth required for this technology.

The design you see is a “Fan Concept” project that is far from engineering reality. The actual Xiaomi 18 will come with a much different and wider camera module to accommodate these large sensors.
