Xiaomi releases second HyperOS 3.1 Beta batch for new devices

Just six days after the initial HyperOS 3.1 rollout began, Xiaomi is already expanding the beta program. As confirmed by the latest recruitment listings, a new wave of heavy hitters has been added to the testing pool. This “Second Batch” recruitment is crucial because it finally brings the Android 16 experience to Xiaomi’s premium camera flagship, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, and the performance king, the REDMI K80 Pro.

If you were worried that the beta would be limited to just the absolute newest devices for months, this rapid expansion is a very good sign. It shows that the Android 16 base is more stable than anticipated.

The Full “Batch 2” Device List

According to the official recruitment screenshot, Xiaomi is opening the floodgates for a mix of current flagships and next-gen devices. Here are the models now entering the HyperOS 3.1 testing phase:

  • Xiaomi 14 Ultra
  • REDMI K80 Pro

Current Beta Build Numbers

These are the currently released versions. The version number 3.0.300 signifies the new HyperOS 3.1 codebase. Here is the verified list:

  • REDMI K90: 3.0.300.4.BETA
  • REDMI K90 Pro Max: 3.0.300.2.BETA
  • Xiaomi 17: 3.0.300.3.BETA
  • Xiaomi 17 Pro: 3.0.300.2.BETA
  • Xiaomi 17 Pro Max: 3.0.300.5.BETA
  • Xiaomi 17 Ultra: 3.0.300.4.BETA
  • Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro: 3.0.300.2.BETA
  • Xiaomi Pad 8: 3.0.300.2.BETA

As a user, the most important piece of news is the inclusion of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. This is Xiaomi’s top-tier photography device and requires a lot of work in optimizing the Leica camera algorithms. The fact that it is included in the Android 16 beta early in January 2026 is a great indicator that Xiaomi has probably fixed the compatibility issues that usually plague the “Ultra” series when it comes to Android updates. Users can expect the new Super Island indicators and faster image processing, thanks to the new OS kernel.

That’s just great—they haven’t even finished rolling out HyperOS 3.0 to some devices, yet you’re already moving on to 3.1.
