The world of tablets is soon to witness a major overhaul, as the latest and most exclusive news about the imminent arrival of the Xiaomi Pad 9 and the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro has finally emerged. We have been following the developments in the new tablet from Xiaomi, and it has now been revealed that Xiaomi is working towards providing its new tablet with the best possible performance.
Such leaks indicate a substantial upgrade of the processor that could make Xiaomi Pad 9 series a benchmark for Android tablets in 2026. Right from the numbers of models to their availability, here is all that is known concerning Xiaomi’s upcoming release.
TL;DR
- Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro (Model Q81) will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor.
- Xiaomi Pad 9 (Model Q82) is expected to come powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset.
- The presence of both tablets in the Global market is confirmed, although the Pro variant will not be available in India and Japan.
- The vanilla variant would be available everywhere, with the only exception being Japan.
Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro: The Newest Performance Champion?
But one thing that’s for sure – the star of this show has got to be Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro. This tablet, with model Q81 and code-name “Shuntian”, has all the makings of a real powerhouse, and what’s more, we have confirmed that under its hood, there will be Qualcomm SM8845P, which will reportedly market as Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.
If these specifications turn out to be correct, the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro will be able to perform heavy multitasking, gaming, and 3D graphics processing with ease. There is, however, a twist in the availability of the tablet. Although the tablet is announced for a Global release, it will not be launched in the Indian and Japanese markets.
Xiaomi Pad 9: The Value Champion
However, for those wanting a well-rounded flagship experience, the regular Xiaomi Pad 9 is no less impressive. It has the model number of Q82 and codename of “Donghai,” and is running tests with the Qualcomm SM8735Pro processor. It is expected to be released with the name of Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 same as Xiaomi Pad 8.
The choice of chip in this device implies that Xiaomi favors efficiency and performance in their standard variant. Unlike in the Pro variant, the Xiaomi Pad 9 will be available in all regions, including India, but it will not be available in Japan.
What’s Next For Xiaomi Tablets?
At this point, the only thing that is left unknown is when and for how much it will be released. Because of the extent of the information that has been leaked, we expect the product to be released officially in the near future. However, if you are looking to upgrade your existing one, I would recommend waiting for the launch of the Xiaomi Pad 9. The performance boost that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor promises on its own is enough reason to wait.

I bought the Xiaomi Pad 6 as soon as it was launched and Xiaomi abandoned it already in the first year, they lost the customer, the device is great, it has an excellent processor and memory but the lack of support is unjustified
