HyperOS 3 stable beta released for Xiaomi 12 & 12S and Fold 2 models

The Xiaomi 4has officially begun 2026 with a huge software surprise for users of previous flagship models. While it is true that the Xiaomi HyperOS software update primarily targeted new models, it is now time for Xiaomi to focus on other models such as Xiaomi 12.

We have been able to identify the first wave of Xiaomi HyperOS 3 updates that come with Android 15 and are now live on the servers for some of the most important models of the brand. This is a particularly important update because it affects models that are only found in the Chinese market, in addition to the models that are found in the global market.

When Will the Global Rollout Begin?

One of the questions we get asked quite frequently is: when can I expect the Global Xiaomi 12 to receive the update for Android 15? Looking at the trends of the Mi Pilot update cycles, after a successful update in China, the Global update usually comes 3-4 weeks later.

We look for the Xiaomi 12 line to be at the forefront for Global consumers. It’s essential to remember that although the Xiaomi 12S line will not have a Global release, other models such as the Xiaomi Civi 3 usually act as the hardware base for the Global model.

What’s New in HyperOS 3?

This new update provides more integration with Xiaomi HyperConnect to give you a more seamless experience between your smartphone and Xiaomi Pad or XRING O1. We’ve seen much smoother animations and a more refined control center, HyperIsland which is much lighter on resources.
