Xiaomi announced 140W desktop charging station with an 8-in-1 design

Xiaomi has launched a new product called the Xiaomi Desktop Charging Station 140W through its Youpin crowds sale platform in China. This product is intended to organize desk working environments through high-speed charging ports, as well as regular AC ports. This charging station is meant to address those consumers requiring a centralized charging station for their Xiaomi phones and laptops conveniently. Its sale price is just about $35 in its crowds sale campaign.

Complete Design and High-Power Output

The Xiaomi Desktop Charging Station 140W boasts a distinct 2C+2A+4AC design, which enables the charging of eight devices at one time. Apart from this functionality, the two USB-C ports have the capability to deliver up to 140W of electricity each. For Xiaomi supporters, this device offers 120W fast-charging capabilities for qualified Xiaomi handsets and Xiaomi Pad variants, maximizing their performance while rapidly powering up.

This device not only concerns power but also compatibility. It also includes various Mi fast charging modes: 100W, 90W, 67W, and 33W. It also needs to consider the previous devices since it also supports the previous versions of devices through the optimized speeds offered for charging found in the desktop device.

Intelligent Power Management & Safety

In addition to the raw power, the charging station comes equipped with an intelligence chip that recognizes hardware connected to it. This technology helps optimize power delivery to all the ports. The devices do not have to be disconnected and then disconnected again to accommodate newfound hardware. This is a marked improvement over how most power strips reset everyone’s connection with the addition of new hardware. The ports are well planned to cater to different hardware. Though it has ports that are designed to support high power, USB-A2 has been optimized to accommodate low currents. Availability and Market Outlook

As of now, it is only available to the Chinese market through the Xiaomi Youpin crowdfunding platform. Going forward, its price is expected to stabilize at $42 following the initial launch. Though there is no official word on its availability to global markets, many foreign consumers do hope that it is brought to global markets through Xiaomi soon since it addresses cable management problems.
