Xiaomi has launched “3D Home View” functionality testing on the Mi Home app for iOS users to control smart devices with added immersion and interaction. The functionality has been rolled out in beta format, with the information being initially spotted by technology blog @LazySauce’sDiary. The new version provides users with an interaction option where they can see their house in 3D settings, while they can see the “on/off” status of smart devices in real time.
A New Approach to Managing Xiaomi Smart Homes
“3D Home View” has been created to provide an interactive smart home experience. In the “3D Home View” application, users can see a virtual replica of their rooms, which are accompanied by devices that are in operation – light, air conditioners, cameras, among others. The status of the devices is updated dynamically to allow the users to see the operation status without accessing different menus.
This is not only indicative of Xiaomi’s commitment to the HyperConnect Ecosystem, where real-time control, visualization, and automation integrate seamlessly through one smart solution, but it also underpins the company’s vision to change the way users can control smart homes with simple visualization capabilities.
Restricted Beta Testing and User Feedback
At this point, the “3D Home View” feature has only been rolled out in small-scale beta on iOS devices, while the Android version can be expected to follow suit shortly after. When one of the users jokingly remarked, “Android users are not human,” the dev revealed that the feature would *eventually be available on all platforms after internal testing.”
Even though there is no launch timeline announced by Xiaomi, being the company it is, with features being rolled out at the same time in iOS and Android devices, it won’t be long before the launch is done in the public domain. When launched, it will greatly improve interaction with smart spaces through the Mi Home app.
