Xiaomi has launched mass production in its very first large appliance factory, adding to the numerous achievements in Xiaomi’s home appliance plan. At an interview posted on Douyin by user @Shan Lianyu, the general manager of the large appliance division of Xiaomi, was questioned about the “controversy” in Xiaomi’s “Super Energy-Saving” air conditioner model. He explained that these models were not even remotely exaggerated in terms of advertising but were models in accordance with very real performance data. Xiaomi air conditioners, explained Shan, offer an APF of 5.27, thereby exceeding the nation’s standards of 5.0, with others rated at 5.6 in Super Grade 1 efficiency level.
Xiaomi AI Technology for Energy Conservation
While regular air conditioners maintain only PID control technologies for cooling, the Xiaomi application uses “AI algorithms” to optimize energy consumption even when it is switched on. “The new technology not only improves startup performance but reduces energy consumption by as much as 30% more than regular models”, Shan clarified, perfectly highlighting Xiaomi’s stand on integrating smart and green technologies to ensure that the “‘Super Energy-Saving’ label is not just marketing hype.”
Handling Industry Responses
The company, however, has taken to responding to criticisms leveled by competitors, with respect to the nature of Xiaomi’s naming convention, which it insists shows technical capability and design intentions inherent in every series of devices they make. The company, according to Shan Lianyu, has different series aligned to meet different needs – namely the Super Energy Saving, Healthy Breeze, and Top Airflow. The company according to Shan, “has different series – Super Energy Saving, Healthy Breeze, and Top Airflow. Every product has its own purpose, so our naming convention is not something to worry about.”
Xiaomi: Home Appliances Strategy to 2030
Earlier, Lu Weibing, Xiaomi’s Partner and President of Mobile Business Group, pointed out in an August 27 statement that the company has registered a “home appliance revenue increase of 66% year-over-year in Q2, with air conditioner sales expanding by 60%.” He further disclosed that the company has “shipped over 5.4 million air conditioners in the same quarter, marking the third consecutive quarter with over 50% growth.” The company has ambitions to enter the top-two air conditioning brands in China by 2030, further asserting the company’s intentions to conquer the smart home industry with AI technology and HyperConnect integration.
