Lei Jun details Xiaomi 17 Pro’s battery innovations

Xiaomi’s founder and CEO, Lei Jun, recently took to Weibo to announce significant advancements in the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Pro’s battery technology. The new device incorporates Xiaomi’s Jinshajiang battery, which boasts a 16% ultra-high silicon composition—substantially increasing energy density and battery efficiency compared to past models. For end users, this translates to notably extended usage without sacrificing performance. Further bolstering battery life, the Xiaomi 17 Pro adopts new L-shaped and stacked battery packaging, maximizing energy capacity within a slim design.

A New Benchmark in Power and Efficiency

With the Xiaomi 17 Pro, the company sets a new standard for power management in flagship devices. These enhancements in battery architecture are a testament to Xiaomi’s commitment to user experience and ongoing innovation. The refined battery system complements the device’s advanced display and overall system performance.

Anticipation is building for the official launch of the Xiaomi 17 series, scheduled for September 25th at 7 p.m. This major release will introduce three models simultaneously, with the series making industry headlines as the first to debut the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor alongside the next-generation Xiaomi HyperOS 3. Please note, the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max will initially be exclusive to the Chinese market, while the standard Xiaomi 17 model will see a global rollout.
