Xiaomi gives away 100,000 free teas nationwide starting today

Xiaomi is taking its commitment to community engagement up a notch. As part of its third wave of service-focused philanthropy, the company is distributing 100,000 complimentary tea gifts across more than 2,300 retail stores nationwide, beginning August 16. The tea isn’t just any off-the-shelf product—it’s sourced directly from a poverty alleviation tea garden in Qiandongnan, Guizhou. This initiative is emblematic of Xiaomi’s strategic approach to corporate social responsibility, integrating rural development with consumer engagement on a national scale.

Strategic Tea Garden Partnership

Xu Fei, Xiaomi Group’s Vice President and CMO, announced that the company has assumed stewardship of a 150-acre tea garden in Mazhai Village, Danzhai County. Situated at nearly 1,000 meters elevation, the area’s unique geography has been transformed by local villagers into productive agricultural land—a feat Xiaomi aims to support and amplify.

Beyond sourcing premium tea, Xiaomi has delivered tangible value to the community. The company provided essential home appliances—including air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, and televisions—directly to village households and the local primary school. Additionally, Xiaomi Service teams have offered free mobile phone cleaning, screen protector replacements, and integrated technical support, reinforcing the brand’s presence and goodwill in rural markets.

Store Rollout Details

The 100,000 “happy tea gifts” will be available through participating Xiaomi stores, with distribution coordinated to maximize reach and impact. Customers are encouraged to confirm local stock availability by phone before visiting, as quantities may vary by location.

Community Impact

This program underscores Xiaomi’s ongoing commitment to rural revitalization and poverty relief. The company’s staff have been hands-on, delivering and installing appliances while training villagers to ensure sustained benefit. The initiative not only strengthens Xiaomi’s brand reputation but also highlights how the company leverages its resources to create shared value for both customers and partner communities.
