Xiaomi to bring new feature to gallery editor app later this month

Xiaomi has announced a significant update to its Photo Album Editor, introducing version 2.0.0.2.2, which delivers a revamped user interface and a suite of powerful AI-driven editing tools. The latest release is geared toward optimizing workflow efficiency and elevating the user experience for millions leveraging Xiaomi’s mobile ecosystem. In direct response to user feedback regarding navigation and interface clarity, Xiaomi’s camera product team confirmed that a streamlined, text-based navigation option will roll out by the end of July.

Streamlined User Interface and Enhanced Navigation

With version 2.0.0.2.2, Xiaomi has overhauled the Photo Editor’s interface, consolidating the most frequently used tools—such as cropping, adjustments, filters, watermarking, and drawing—into an intuitive, user-friendly layout. These improvements are designed to reduce friction in the editing process and enable users to complete tasks with greater speed and precision.

Addressing prior concerns about ambiguous iconography, Xiaomi is moving toward a default pure text navigation bar. The forthcoming update will allow users to toggle between text and graphic navigation styles in the “More > Navigation Style” menu, offering a customizable approach to suit individual preferences and enhance productivity.

Next-Generation AI Editing Features

This update introduces robust AI functionalities that set a new standard in mobile photo editing. The AI expression replacement tool enables users to adjust facial expressions within images, while the AI image generation feature creates original content based on user directives. Additionally, the magic cutout tool uses advanced machine learning algorithms to automatically extract subjects from backgrounds, delivering professional-grade results with minimal effort.

These AI-powered features underscore Xiaomi’s commitment to integrating innovative technologies that drive user value and productivity.

Integrated Marking Tools and Improved Filter System

Xiaomi has streamlined marking and annotation by unifying multiple editing functions under the “Mark” utility. Users can now access text, signatures, mosaic, drawing, and sticker options from a single interface, reducing the time and complexity involved in annotating images.

The filter system has also been enhanced, now offering side-by-side previews of original and filtered images within thumbnail views. Users can easily identify and save preferred filter styles for future use with a simple long-press gesture, improving efficiency and workflow customization.

Broad Device Compatibility and Expanded Watermark Options

The new Photo Editor update supports both HyperOS 1.0 and 2.0, ensuring backward compatibility with a broad range of devices, including the Xiaomi 10 series, MIX Fold, Pad 5 series, Redmi Note 11, K40, and Redmi 12 models. This broad compatibility makes advanced editing accessible to a wide user base.

In addition, watermark and photo frame functions have been unified, and exclusive REDMI film watermarks are now available to standard Xiaomi device users. This expansion provides a wider array of creative watermarking options for business and personal branding purposes.

Users can download the latest update via HyperOSUpdates.com or access additional system enhancements through the MemeOS Enhancer app, available on the Play Store.
