REDMI K Pad set for launch next week

REDMI is preparing to unveil its highly anticipated K Pad next week—an entry that’s poised to shake up the compact tablet space. Details shared during the “Lu Weibing Live Chats about Xiaomi New Products” event, with insights from Wang Teng, Xiaomi China’s marketing head and REDMI’s brand manager, indicate this model is positioned as a serious contender. REDMI remains committed to delivering high-quality, feature-rich devices at accessible price points, and the K Pad seems set to continue that tradition.

Premium Engineering and Display

The REDMI K Pad features a robust all-metal integrated body, lending it a polished, professional aesthetic. It will be available in Deep Black (classic), Smoky Purple (modern), and Spruce Green (unique). The device’s 8.8-inch form factor strikes a practical balance between usability and portability. The display is a custom 3K LCD panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio, engineered to deliver sharp visuals and vivid color reproduction, which should appeal to business users and content consumers alike.

High-Performance Hardware and Endurance

At its core, the K Pad incorporates the flagship-level Dimensity 9400+ chipset, ensuring reliable performance whether multitasking or running demanding applications. REDMI has equipped the device with an advanced aluminum alloy liquid-cooled VC thermal management system to maintain efficiency during extended periods of use.

Battery capacity is another standout feature: the K Pad’s 7500mAh battery offers 44% more capacity than the iPad mini, supporting uninterrupted productivity and entertainment throughout the workday.

Audio, Haptics, and Connectivity

For audio, the K Pad includes custom ultra-thin symmetrical dual speakers with “four-voice coil” technology, promising immersive sound for media and conferencing. Dual X-axis linear motors deliver precise haptic feedback—an advantage for interactive applications and gaming scenarios.

Connectivity is addressed with a dual USB-C interface, providing flexibility for charging, data transfer, and accessories. The three-antenna design around the camera module is engineered to enhance network performance, ensuring stable connectivity in professional environments.

Productivity and Collaboration

During the product demonstration, the K Pad showcased its capability to handle cloud-based gaming—demonstrating robust performance and interactive features. The device enables collaborative gaming sessions between tablets and smartphones, highlighting versatility for both work and play.
