An exciting news for Mi camera hobbyists, @Xiaomi Miao Lei, Xiaomi’s Camera Department’s Deputy General Manager, unveiled some important details on the company’s camera software updates today. First showcased at the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and SU7 Ultra launch conference in February, the new simple camera interface has been a buzz among fans. In response to feedback on their favorite Leica red UI, now Xiaomi confirms that all Leica co-branded phones will keep their classic red interface by default after an update, in addition to offering six new color options to unlock even more personalization potential for users with varying tastes.
Beta Testing on Several Devices Underway
The camera update is now going for beta tests on multiple device lines. As per reports, the 14 series and 15 series have already started receiving beta versions, with MIX Flip, MIX Fold 4, and K70 Ultra following soon. In addition to retaining the classic Leica red UI, the update is also set to optimize fundamental camera capabilities such as focal length switching and EV (exposure value) adjustment features.
The extensive rollout plan reflects Xiaomi’s determination to offer improved photography capabilities to broad segments across both high-end and mid-range product lines. This plan means that photography features aren’t exclusive to flagships but permeate much of the Xiaomi ecosystem.
